I belive in the power of unity in the body of Christ. To see the whole campus with 30,000 people to get saved, it is impossible to achieve this with just one Christian club on campus. Every Christian on campus need to be involved to see this miracle happen. Currently, there are a few uniting effort happening on Monash Clayton campus, which is the largest campus at Monash University.
Weekly United Prayer
Persistent prayer precedes each revival. Currently my friend Jonno and me are pioneering a weekly united prayer meeting on Monash Clayton campus. This prayer meeting invites Christians from different clubs and churches to pray for revivial and God's kingdom to come. So far we have a few people from various Christian clubs and churches joining us for prayer. We started this in semester 1, 2011 and we believe that what we pray will sow into eternity.
Monash inter-campus prayer
On 9 Aug 2011, Christians from Monash Clayton, Berwick and Sunway (Malaysia) pray together for campus revival using video conferencing. Despite we are separated by geographic distance, technology has overcome the problem and we all pray in one heart and spirit for our campuses.
Jesus week/live worship (13-15 September, 2011)
This is an unprecedented united outreach effort. Monash Chinese Christian Fellowship (MCCF) has a vision to see all Christian clubs on campus united. Worship is one of the ways to bring God's kingdom and heavenly things to earth. Since we have not done this in such a large scale, we really need more prayer for a breakthrough to come. May this be a God event, not just a club event.
Outreach to Muslim student on Monash Clayton Campus (19-23 September, 2011)
This is another united outreach effort, this time it is towards Muslim students. Students from the Melbourne School of Theology will walk around and talk to Muslim students about Christ on campus. The latter will be invited to a gospel talk titled 'Jesus more than a prophet'. The main organiser is hoping that the Christian clubs on campus can contribute to this united outreach effort.
Testimony from a ex-Muslim covert
I myself am involved in a prayer walk group in the neighbourhood around Monash Clayton campus. I met a ex-Muslim convert who shared his testimony with me. It is wonderful to see how God changes his life totally. When his family threatened him to disown Jesus, he stood firm in his faith and choose to remain as a Christian. As a result, he is separated from his family. If an ex-Muslim convert is not ashamed to testify about Jesus, how much more than shall we spread the good news to those around us?
Driven by eternity
Last Saturday I had an opportunity to bake some cakes with my pre-believer friend. On the road to buy the baking equipment, I thank God for the opportunity to share about repentance, God's grace and life after death. Apparently, my friend has not considered these things before. To me anytime devoted to impact another person's eternal destiny is worth invested in. Let's live a life to impact lives for eternity!
