GOD DESIRES ‘FELLOWSHIP’ (PART 1)
From beginning of time, God the Father intended to create human beings to extend His fellowship and companionship.
God spoke and gave instructions to mankind in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 1:28-29). Sin caused this fellowship to be broken and separated. Adam and Eve hid from God after they disobeyed (Genesis 3:8-9). The good news is that through Jesus the fellowship is restored for those who ask God for the forgiveness of their sins.
‘We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.’ 1 John 1:3
Key Principle: God desires a restoration of fellowship with mankind.
GOD DESIRES ‘HOLINESS’ (PART 2)
Mankind was created in the image of God. This does not refer to the physical image of God but rather the character of God.
Sin has tarnished the holiness and innocence in mankind (Romans 3:23). The good news is that through Jesus death on the cross, mankind can once again be made holy.
‘For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard.’ Romans 3:23 (New Living Translation)
‘And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.’ Hebrews 13:12
Key Principle: God desires a restoration of holiness in mankind.
GOD DESIRES FOR THE BEST
God is likened to a parent who desires His children to have the best in life. God has dreams and aspirations for everyone in his creation.
The Designer has a special purpose for each person on earth. Therefore, God doesn’t want anyone to live their live aimlessly or without purpose. God desires to reveal His plans to all through a personal relationship.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jer 29:11
Key Principle: God desires to reveal His plans and purposes for mankind.
