My name is Patrick from Judah 1 in the afternoon service of Hope Brisbane. I personally have been an E-Club coordinator for one year. I have learned about God’s heart tremendously from evangelism and trusting in Him. I would like to share my personal testimony to show how much God loves me, protects me and guides me through difficulties.
I am originally from Hong Kong. I had been praying for my family’s salvation for two years. My parents did not believe in God. They did not like me to go to church and believed that I am wasting my time every Sunday. So it is very hard for me to start to explain to them who is God and why they need salvation.
Last year, I did very badly in my first semester. My father was so angry. He wanted me to go back home to talk to him and explain to him what had happened. So I went back home for one week in September and promised that I would go my best in the next semester. As I had already not gone back home for three years, my parents more overjoyed at seeing me rather than upset over me. I shared about my faith to them. Even though my father was still very stubborn, he started to listen to me. My mother said that since she is not very familiar to Christianity, she is not sure. My young brother started to go to church and asked me a lot of challenging questions.
Last November, my father passed away due to a tumour blocking blood vessels from cerebellum to the medulla. In Hong Kong, my mother kept crying every day and my brother received the counselling from the pastor in my Hong Kong church. Even though I was very sad, I was very strong in faith. I knew that it was God’s hand which allowed me to see my father one last time in September.
My mother started to think about going to church to understand who is God and my brother was softening his heart to listen to the pastor in the church. After this tragedy, I trusted in God more and completely submitted to Him. Proverb 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. I really want to finish the great commission in my life time and help the unsaved one.
Now I read God’s word daily, training myself to rise up as a leader in Christ. Studying very hard, I hope that God would use me in my Health care profession to spread the gospel to the patients. Guys, can I challenge you all to submit to Christ and finish the great commission in your life time? With all your heart? With all soul? With all your mind? Mathew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
Hey Brothers and Sisters, Let’s go!!! Go!!!!
