FOUR PROMISES IN EVANGELISM

I’VE GOT JESUS’ WORDS (PART 1)

Jesus was the one who gave the marching orders to go and preach the gospel to every creature.

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. (Mark 16:15)

Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."(John 20:21)

This command was not given by a man, a pastor, or an organization but by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Therefore, as believers we need proclaim God’s truth boldly, without embarrassment or shame.

Key Principle: Believers are sent out by Jesus to spread a message of love, forgiveness and reconciliation.

I’VE GOT JESUS’ AUTHORITY (PART 2)

Jesus received authority from God the Father. He delegated His authority to the

  • Twelve apostles,

He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. (Matthew 10:1)

  • Seventy-two disciples

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. (Luke 10:19)

  • And every believer. This authority is given to extend the kingdom of God.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’ (Matthew 28:19-20).

Key Principle: Believers have been given authority to extend God’s kingdom and destroy the works of satan.

I’VE GOT JESUS’ POWER (PART 3)

God has sent believers to share the gospel with His power. He has bestowed on believers everything necessary to accomplish His work on earth.

‘But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.’ (Acts 1:8 - Amplified Bible).

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. (Acts 4:31)

Key Principle: Believers have been given power over everything to extend God’s kingdom.

I’VE GOT JESUS’ FRUITFULNESS (PART 4)

Both Jesus and the early disciples’ ministry were fruitful. For example, many Samaritans repented at Jesus’ preaching.

Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, "He told me everything I ever did." So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41And because of his words many more became believers. (John 4:39-41)

The early church experienced the same success with many disciples added to God’s kingdom.

praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:47)

So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith. (Acts 6:7)

Jesus declared to the disciples that they would do greater things than him (John 14:12).

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. (John 14:12)

Key Principle: Believers can have great fruitfulness through Jesus.
